It's December 5th and I've got a rather fun illustration that sort of evolved naturally, and it was a nice surprise. I knew I wanted to draw sleigh bells, but I had no idea how I was going to connect them together or to the daily date idea. But as I arranged the bells, the ribbon forming a star just sort of appeared.
As for today's Christmas fun, I'd like to share my favorite rendition of "Baby It's Cold Outside." This song always has an extra level of underlying humor because of the persistence of the male singer, who really isn't taking the hint. Well, when you give a song like this to comedian Paul F. Tompkins and musician Aimee Mann to perform live, you're almost certainly going to have a good time.
It's easy to see the playfulness in the performance, that comes from having two real life friends on stage who are clearly enjoying it as much as the audience does. Keep an ear out for some of Paul and Aimee's retorts in between the verses, which add even more laughs to the already coy joke in this holiday duet.
